Catch up!

So it has been a little while! So much going on with School, Football, work, etc.

We have had a fantastic opportunity with my hubby an SRO at a Middle School now. We have been able to go watch 7th and 8th grade games. This has been really cool for the boys. When we weren't going to those games, we had Travis's practice and games.

He did soooo great this year in football. He just keeps learning and has done better each year. He has a real passion for football. Still too afraid to put him in tackle- so Flag is still the way of his football world. He is doing Great in school. I don't know if I posted this before, but he is in Quest program in school. It is the gifted/talented program. He gets to travel once a week to another school and meet with other kids from different schools for advance study and out of the box thinking. It is amazing the things he brings home around his growth and learning. He still is able to do his class make-up and stay on the A honor roll! WOW! He still wants to be a football player. I am trying to talk him into being a biologist- what he used to always say he wanted to be due to his love of the environment and animals. He has grown so much and his teacher just recently commented in a note home to state how much of a good student and hard worker he is! Praise the lord!!! He also has started doing Awana's with my Mom and Dad on Sunday nights- course both the boys are doing it!

Alex is Growing and developing Attitude- has to be Berto's because there is no way I am that stubborn. He is definitely in the I can do it and don't tell me how to do something phase of the 3's. It is so funny because he watches Kai Lan on PBS and he has learned when he gets mad to sway side to side and breath. He does that alot! So cute though, he has the best hugs and kisses and can have a real conversation with you. He enjoys helping me cook and just loves to be apart of everything! He has "ideas"! Always coming to me with, "I have an idea". He tells everyone when asked what his age is, "I am 8". This is only because his brother is 8 and copies/follows him around- EVERYWHERE!!! Drives Travis CRAZY!!! We started giving Travis "alone" time so he can do things (reading/playstation) without his brother talking to him.

Most of you know Berto and I love to talk- So you know what that means! Our kids love to talk. It is hard to get a word in at our house.

Berto and I- not much. Berto loves his school. He calls them "his kids"! The teachers and staff just love him and enjoy his energy and enthusiasm to make these kids more than they are! I know every time I go up to see him for lunch or take the kids to games they make a Bee line to me and tell me how much they enjoy him at their school. Tear! He cares and puts himself into their lives to create accountability and respect. It is amazing to see. He hopes to create a group "BAT (Bison Action Team)" in his school for troubled, border line kids to do community work and be involved more in the school.
I am just working, working, working. My Bank has bought 2 banks- oh wait- combined with 2 other banks and my job has taken me out of town and into reading, reading, reading. It is amazing the time and energy to read and combine best practices and policies to make a better bank for customers. I am very fortunate to be involved, meet and work with future colleagues of mine. For the next 9 months it will be a world wind I am sure. Looking forward to the growth!

So some recent events:

Halloween-

Dinner Conversation- My youngest got done eating dinner first one night. He commented he was growing and a big boy for eating all his food first. Then turned to his older brother and declared "My pee-pee is longer than yours". LOL!!! Responses. Travis in a stern, defensive voice "No it is not!" Berto reacted with "Give me a High Five." I just laughed...

Travis PTA Recital playing the Xylophone-

Saddest news is that we lost Lobo. Not in the way you think! He ran from out of our gate and we have not been able to find him. This just happened on 11.13.09! Still hope!

8 Year Old

August 23, 2001- 10:19, this veracious, energetic, passionate, challenging, young boy came into the world. WOW- 8 years and how much you have grown into a caring young man that looks past outside into the core of people and loves everyone. Well, maybe except for his brother at times, He! He! He constantly challenges things that make you say - HUMM and makes you think of things that you should be doing instead. He knows right from wrong in the human sense of it and already challenges me to be a better mom and person. He loves unconditionally everyone he meets and loves to be every ones friend. I hope and pray through the rest of his life he keeps this quality and the joy I see in his eyes and his passion to play and be with any of his friends. The gleeme in his eyes that sparkle when he gets to help is just unbelievable and I hope and pray it also stays forever! WE LOVE YOU TRAVIS!

We got to ride the Dart Rail- Blue Line, Alex all day said he rode the Blue Train, to down town Amtrak and walked through the exhibit. Of Course my Mom's company is the innovation behind it- HP sponsored! After that we went an ate in Firewheel and got stuffed. Then we drove over to Party City to get stuff for Travis's 8th B-Day party this Saturday! I can't believe he is 8! WOW, time flies!

Day 2- Summer Vaca

Started the morning with Pancakes, Bacon, eggs and sit down family time. Berto and Travis got to some PS2 Career Hunting (2 hour game). Alex of course watched! I did Yoga and Laundry! FUN TIMES. We then headed out to Incredible Pizza! 4 hours later! WOW, we did a bunch! It was crazy and fun. Then headed to Pet Smart. Travis wants to buy a bearded dragon sooooo bad. Berto and I have not ever had that kind of pet and a little nervous. We have been pricing them and trying to decide the way to go with that. Travis just loves animals and specifically snakes and lizards. So I am all for the lizard side of things! Berto found a HUGE GALLON TANK in a garage sale and it is perfect for a bearded dragon. I don't know if that is a destiny thing or a coincidence? Here are some pics from Incredible...

Day 1 - Summer Vaca

So day 1 started with Aquarium and then Chuck E Cheese! Worked out perfect, since it rained ALL DAY LONG! The Aquarium had changed since we had been 2 years ago! It was so much bigger and alot more to look and see. I think the only thing I miss from years ago was when it had flying butterflies all around. I know I didn't just use the phrase "years ago". I am getting old. You officially know that when you use that phrase! He! He! The boys had a great time. We had to keep telling Travis to calm down. He wanted to tell us and everyone that walked up to an exhibit about it and some fact. They have a place where you can feed the birds with blueberries. Travis went start away and Alex said no, but when Alex saw Travis do it. He was in also. Unfortunately, by the time Alex got up there again, the birds were not hungry anymore. Very Cute though! After we went to Chuck E Cheese. This was Alex's pick of what he wanted to do this week. Good Times, Good Times!

All the day pictures can be found on my Facebook- Teresa Edney Irizarry

The Tree Berto put his hand on to brace himself when he got up from looking at something low~ OUCH!

So Behind!

It has been a busy couple of months! Travis got out of 2nd grade alive and Alex is Potty Trained! In between all that was the boys going to Sea World and Fishing in Oklahoma with Grandman and Papaw! They are growing so Fast! Berto and I have had some fun time together with and with out the boys and in a couple of weeks we are set to go on Vacation! I have been really bad the last 2 months and have not taken my camera anywhere- SHAME ON ME! I just walk out without it. I think it has to do with not packing a "diaper bag" anymore and so my head does not go through that "mental" prep of things to take with me. I just walk out the door. Time to think about putting the camera next to my phone so I don't forget. Travis is fixing to turn 8. Yeah I said it- 8! It is hard to believe that he is that old! Well, not much of an update, but wanted to get something out here. Going to try and remember my camera to write and share more!

Awards Night

So this was not your traditional awards night for 7 year old baseball. I sit and wonder how much cooler things are now and the traditional pizza party and a trophy don't exist anymore. The expectations to WOW a kid have greatly increased to an Awards Night at Hawaiian Falls. I wrote it Hawaiian Falls. Is that Crazy or what? It is cool and was quite fun, but how do you top that? Hawaiian Falls as a Thank You for only 3 games due to all the rain outs- 3 games Hawaiian Falls- Thank You for playing. I am just amazed at what we do to please the kids these days. I am waiting for the day where I get to say- "In my days". It is coming...
